Zinger ↑Top bounty completer@zinger·1y·Completed 5 bountiesChannel memberThe flowchart is gospel 🤲🏻 Favorite card: Amex Gold for 4x (8%+) back on dining and groceries for $10 per year Favorite redemption: Iberia business class nonstop JFK to Madrid for 26k points ($4-10k retail, 15+ cpp!) https://m16p-churning.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/Card+Recommendation+Flowchart+Latest.htmlReplyPay user
alexTop bounty completer@alexgrover.eth·1y·Completed 0 bountiesChannel memberDude I booked the Iberia flight (from SFO) this summer and got downgraded due to a plane change. I was so madReplyPay user
alexTop bounty completer@alexgrover.eth·1y·Completed 0 bountiesChannel memberNope, just gave me back the difference in booking price. I have a bunch of Iberia points I don’t know when I’ll use now 🥲ReplyPay user
Zinger ↑Top bounty completer@zinger·1y·Completed 5 bountiesChannel memberNo way! Did Iberia do anything to compensate?ReplyPay user
alexTop bounty completer@alexgrover.eth·1y·Completed 0 bountiesChannel memberI think @zinger should win for the flowchart, but beyond the first few cards I just look at DoC when I need a new card and get whatever fits my redemption goals and is near all time high bonus. Ends up being ~4x per year, easy to track bonus spend https://www.doctorofcredit.com/best-current-credit-card-sign-bonuses/ReplyPay user
Zinger ↑Top bounty completer@zinger·1y·Completed 5 bountiesChannel memberOne idea I have for this channel is doing “credit card makeovers” where someone describes their situation and we pitch various cards and strategies personalized to them. What do you think?ReplyPay user
alexTop bounty completer@alexgrover.eth·1y·Completed 0 bountiesChannel memberI like it! I never participated in the Reddit what card Wednesday threads because people are too serious over there, but would be fun hereReplyPay user
alexTop bounty completer@alexgrover.eth·1y·Completed 0 bountiesChannel memberAlso if you want to share what cards you have and what kind of rewards you want, I’m sure we can give more specific pointersReplyPay user
dinislamTop bounty completer@dinislam.eth·1y·Completed 0 bountiesChannel memberThe Anti-Churning stack: Get a U.S. Bank Altitude Reserve card which gives 3 points per dollar on purchases made via Apple Pay (or Google Pay). For me that’s >99% of purchases. Each point is worth 1.5 cents, so this card is effectively 4.5% cashback on nearly everything.ReplyPay user
Cameron Ar...Top bounty completer@cameron·1yChannel memberooh this one is pretty good and straightforwardReply
dinislamTop bounty completer@dinislam.eth·1y·Completed 0 bountiesChannel memberYep, churning is a lot of work. This is the best card I’ve found to spend on when i’m too busy to churn :)ReplyPay user
dinislamTop bounty completer@dinislam.eth·1y·Completed 0 bountiesChannel memberAnnual fee is $400, but comes with a $325 dining/takeout/travel credit Hence the effective fee is only $75. Signup bonus is 50k points worth $750 More details here: https://www.drcreditcard.net/us-bank-altitude-reserve.htmlReplyPay user

Cameron Ar...Top bounty completer@cameron·1yChannel memberthat’s why I’m looking for a list to follow hahaReply
Brent Fitz...Top bounty completer@bf·1y·Completed 0 bountieswith annual fees and cognitive overhead i am over it. it's all a tradfi engagement game. our brainpower is more valuable on new stuff. get some low/no-annual fee card with some cash or easy rewards in categories you spend in, then don't look back. if you're looking at nerdwallet for over 10 min you already lost.ReplyPay user
alexTop bounty completer@alexgrover.eth·1y·Completed 0 bountiesChannel memberThe weird points transfers are where you can get 100% returns on your spending, it takes effort but it’s worth it if you care about the travel perks enough. And if that’s the path you go down cards with high sign up bonuses are generally the best vs optimizing for spending categories.ReplyPay user
justin.ahn...Top bounty completer@ahn.eth·1y·Completed 1 bountyChannel memberchase amazon prime visa maxi here as well 👋ReplyPay user
Brent Fitz...Top bounty completer@bf·1y·Completed 0 bountiesYeah, I understand the appeal and potential value, but I can't get past seeing it all as a big engagement trap. 🤷ReplyPay user
Brent Fitz...Top bounty completer@bf·1y·Completed 0 bountiesDid this a few years ago and ended up in the chase sapphire zone of mediocrity. Use their travel portal or do weird points transfers to maximize rewards. Turns out their travel portal pricing sucks. My boring basic bro card is the Amazon Prime Visa. No fee, 5% on all the bourgeois AMZN things. I think everyone has it?ReplyPay user
